Kidoo and Kaligo two great apps for kindergarten teachers

The increasing equipment and use of digital tablets in schools is to be welcomed. They are sometimes underused. Lack of training for teachers, but also lack of good quality programs to feed them.

This is particularly the case for early childhood, where quantity does not necessarily rhyme with quality.
In the plethoric offer for the little ones, however, there are real pearls.
This is the case for two very remarkable kindergarten applications proposed by the Bretons of “Learn & Go”. Kaligo for the learning of handwriting and Kidoo a Follow-up booklet for kindergarten teachers I have already said all the good that I thought here a few months ago. Detailed review.

Kaligo helps to learn handwriting 

Kaligo has been designed and validated by pedagogical referents and teachers and it shows. This amazing Tablet App  is used with a stylus and offers children an experience very close to classic paper/pencil use while taking advantage of the advantages and contributions of digital technology. 

Kaligo is a complementary tool for writing and graphic gesture training. The application, which targets children aged 3 to 8, offers, in a graphic environment adapted to children, letters that the child must reproduce on the tablet with his or her stylus (or finger). With one click, it will be able to check its layout and possibly start again to improve it. 

Under its apparent simplicity, Kaligo offers advanced functions that are particularly interesting for a teacher. For example, Kaligo allows a detailed analysis of pupils’ paths (of meaning, form and … order) and offers personalised educational pathways with a good dose of artificial intelligence. Ideal to take into account the difficulties and progress of each.

The application is easily configurable by the teacher. It will thus allow an individualized follow-up of each of the students.

Kaligo is offered at around 60 EUR per year for an entire class. You can also request a quote personalized for a school. A 30-day free trial is available on the app’s website. It runs on iOs and Android and does not require a permanent internet connection to work.

Kidoo. A follow-up notebook of learning on tablet for kindergarten

Kidoo is a very nice mobile app to use from your tablet that will help you track your class and save a significant amount of time. I have already had the opportunity to present the application in detail here. It is easy and intuitive to use. The grip is immediate. 

Kidoo gives you an organisational overview of all your students with a small photo for each student. Once your class is set up, Kidoo allows you to keep track of activities and work done by your students. Take a picture of their work, they will come to rank in the sheet of each of them and you will be able to add notes and comments very easily.

The magic happens at the time of evaluations that are done automatically. It will also facilitate exchanges with families. You can share a student’s profile and comments on their work and progress by email. The application also generates PDF files of reports ready to be printed.

You can test a limited version of Kidoo for free. Full and unlimited access will cost you around €20 for the current version.
