TextVision. Reading aid application for DYS (pro site)

TextVision is a mobile application dedicated to children, and beyond, to anyone with problems with reading. A valuable reading aid for dyslexia and dysorthography problems.

An application designed by Chouaïb Laghlamn, a university computer science teacher and also a digital developer. Chouaib has a grandson who has trouble with reading. Neither one nor two, the grandfather embarked on the development of an application to help him. The result is great. TextVision is available for Android mobiles and tablets. The version for iOs is expected to arrive in the next few days.

A good reading aid for children with dyslexia

The TextVision application was developed with the help of occupational therapists. It will help people with punctual or lasting language disorders (Dyslexia, Dysorthography) by facilitating the recognition of printed texts.

It works like a pocket scanner. Once installed on your smartphone or tablet you will be able to photograph / scan the text to read.

TextVison will then take action to allow the reader to understand it in any way possible. Simply indicate the language of the original text. The application will display it to you in a font adapted to dyslexia. You will be able to increase the size of the text, color one line out of two, highlight … You will then be able to download and print the scanned text in your new layout.

Read or listen to texts to allow their comprehension

The TextVision application also allows you to listen to the text scanned and recognised by the application. Continuous reading or word for word. It is even possible to adjust the reading speed.

All this works very well without any problems. The character recognition system built into the application is very good and it is difficult to fault it. An OCR system that the developer must pay for each use. This is why the app is free for you to test. The first 10 scans are free. After that you will have to pay the sum of 2.5 Eur per month.
