Mind maps or mind mapping in English are widely used in recent years in school learning.
Their effectiveness as a pedagogical tool has been demonstrated many times by very serious studies. The Mind Map Tools who use the natural functioning of the brain facilitate the understanding and memorization of even the most complex notions.
It is therefore only natural that they can be found in certain subjects, particularly mathematics. The Eyrolles editions have just released two beautiful boxes My mind maps to teach math. Designed with teachers, they make it possible to address curriculum skills for cycles 2 and 3 via mind maps.

A mind map for each math lesson
Beautifully illustrated by Filf, these mental maps present in this box offer a playful and renewed approach to the different notions on the program.
Each box contains a particularly clear coloured instructional guide on history and possible uses, mind maps in the classroom and a block with 80 lessons in reproducible mind maps.
Each lesson is available in three formats on the front of the sheet. The essentials to be taught are presented here:
- A detailed linear lesson?
- A memo to remember only the essentials
- A Synthetic Mind Map
The entire back is devoted to a blank mind map to use as you see fit. In black and white, it can be easily photocopied for distribution or projected onto the screen. Students will be able to color the pictos or branches, complete or emphasize the words for better memorization.
To complete the whole, the authors propose turnkey sessions with labels to classify, Mathematical Games with cards, dominoes, fun activities. It's up to you to use them as they are or adapt them for your class.
A dedicated personal online space as a digital complement
The Eyrolles editions have also planned an online teaching space that complements the box set. You will find additional resources and all the factsheets in PDF format.

Also available are transversal resources so that you can imagine or design your own equipment and turnkey workshops. I recommend, among other things, a discovery workshop for your students that will teach them to become an ace of mind maps.

The teaching area of ‘To teach math with mind maps’ also offers a space for exchanges with colleagues to share ideas, sessions or achievements with each other. Each online space is personal and can be accessed via a unique code.
My mind maps to teach math is an excellent educational tool to offer your students original and effective support for your courses.
My mind maps for teaching math come in two boxes. One for the Cycle 2 (CP-CE1-CE2) and another for the Cycle 3 (CM1- CM2). Two boxes by Stéphanie Eleaume Lachaud, illustrations by Filf published by Eyrolles at a price of 49 €.
