Inrap offers you a dizzying dive into the Middle Ages

Until the end of the year,  Inrap, the national institute for preventive archaeological research, invites you to a ‘medieval season’ through dedicated programming and a significant amount of resources allowing the public and your students to discover medieval archaeology.

Inrap Middle Ages

I have already said here all the good I thought of the Inrap website. The pages he has dedicated since early October to medieval times have not changed my mind, quite the contrary.

Around the exhibition ‘What’s new in the Middle Ages?’ organised at the Cité des sciences et de l’industrie in Paris, Inrap offers a series of digital resources on its site that are of high quality and that dust off the image of archaeology. This includes awakening vocations among young people.

You will find in a modern and cheerful graphic atmosphere several thematic files. Medieval archaeology, Believing in the Middle Ages, Working in the Middle Ages or Ink Dying in the Middle Ages … Inrap also offers an update on the latest excavations and discoveries in this area.

Pub

Radio and audiovisual broadcasts complete this panorama punctuated by beautifully made online quizzes.

The Institute’s pedagogical mission is not forgotten with a complete set of resources for teachers. What to prepare the visit to the Cité des Sciences if you have this chance but also simply to be able to work on this historical period with your students even if they have not seen the exhibition.

Middle Ages

Do not miss a special "Sornettes and Balivernes" devoted to received ideas about
the Middle Ages especially well done and which may well surprise you.

In the end, a special Middle Ages that makes us want to delve into this period of our history and definitively call into question all the preconceived ideas about medieval times but also about …archaeology. Good work.
