Review of the annual press review of school and high school newspapers for 2016. Thanks to Clemi and Pascal Famery who had this great idea several years ago.

Press review

A great press review that offers a dive into the heart of hundreds of newspapers and webzines written and produced by young people in schools, colleges and high schools across the country. An expression of the precious and ephemeral youth (the titles are by nature related to the schooling of their authors) that the Clemi had the good idea to systematically collect by creating an official educational repository for the newspapers made by the students in their schools. The aim of this work, which is much more complicated than it seems, is to collect, archive and promote these publications, of which he keeps the memory.

A valuable tool to take the pulse of the young people in school and see how they react to current events. Last year CLEMI published an exciting special issue after the attacks on Charlie that I echoed here.

This new end-of-year edition of the school newspaper press review is made up of three brochures that can be consulted free of charge. online or downloadable from the Clemi website. A brochure for schools, another for colleges and finally a last one for high schools. Consult them, young people have talent.

Three cross-cutting topics were of interest to aspiring journalists in the school press: the attacks of 13 November 2015, migrants and COP21. Serious and serious subjects for a generation that is too often accused of being futile and egoist.

The subjects covered in the three brochures then differ by age group. School newspapers talk about their class, their outings, their city. In college, young people focus more on college life and adolescent issues. In bulk we will find their expression on harassment, teachers and programs, beauty and screens ubiquitous in the daily life of college students.

For high school students, topical issues are on the rise in their newspapers. In 2016 high school students talked a lot about the labor law and social mobilizations, the night standing movement, the rise of the FN or religion, the wearing of the light … Pus veil, high school life also gives rise to many articles often funny and offbeat.

A special mention for illustrators who punctuate all these newspapers with their drawings. Some of them are really talented. Drawing humor or drawing punch, their creations often fly.

You can also order printed copies of each brochure (within the limits of available stocks), by sending an email from me to p.famery@clemi.fr.

If some still doubt, this annual press review is an indisputable proof of the interest of this school press, which must be encouraged by giving it the means to develop. Thanks to CLEMI for promoting it this way.
