LyricsGaps is an old enough site that offers for free games and exercises to learn a language through song lyrics.

A good idea that allows you to offer your students various exercises based on a medium they enjoy: music. LyricsGaps would require a little bit of youth, but nevertheless remains an incredibly rich resource with thousands of songs in dozens of languages.
On the website’s homepage, you have access to the latest songs added to the website’s database. For each of them, the language and level required are indicated. You can also use a search engine where you can indicate the title of a song or a performer. On the right and at the top of the screen, you can filter the songs offered by language. Practical.
By clicking on a song title, you can access its file and four available games that appear next to the song video. The first of these is a simple karaoke that displays the full text of the song. The other three levels (beginner, intermediate, expert) offer you a text with holes from the lyrics of the song. At the beginner level, LyricsGaps displays a small drop-down menu for each missing word. In this list is the solution in the middle of other proposals. In the intermediate and expert level no proposals. It’s up to you to write the right answer.

The principle is easy to understand. It is a question of having the song listened to a first time and then during a second listening to answer the questions. All this works rather well and once you have answered all the questions, it will be enough to validate your exercise so that LyricsGaps displays your score and if so, the mistakes made.
The site is completely free, but suffers from an overload of advertising scattered all over the pages. That is a pity. The only way to avoid this is to print the lyrics of songs as well as exercises. The site has provided for this option and the impressions are very clean, but of course online interactivity and correction are lost.
