Wordeys. How to learn vocabulary in a foreign language

Last updated on 13 May 2026

When learning a foreign language, it is necessary to gradually enrich one’s vocabulary. Here is a simple and effective online service to gradually enrich its vocabulary and especially memorize it easily.

Wordeys is an excellent playful tool that will allow you to have a small virtual wordbook in which to write down and keep the words sentences and expressions of the language you are learning.

I have already said here all the good I thought of this Online Vocabulary Exerciser. The service has continued to grow and offers some interesting new options e.g. the possibility to import a word read from Google Translate.

Wordeys can be used both on a simple computer and on a smartphone or tablet. The tool is very simple to understand. You will be able to create lists of words by theme. Words or simple phrases or phrases, freedom is complete. You must of course choose the language of origin and the target language you are learning. When you write the word you want to learn in a foreign language, Wordeys offers you a Machine Translation via google translate, but you still have your hands on the result you want to display. You can create as many lists as you want. Each of them can contain as many words as you want.

Once your lists are ready. It's up to you or your students to play. Two modes are offered, Test or Flashcard. In the "Test" method, Wordeys offers you a kind of automatic quiz that will ask the player to respond in writing by translating each word or expression in the list. In Flashcard mode, the idea is to help you remember. Wordeys asks you to translate into your head. One click allows you to return the card and discover the answer.

On the Wordeys website, you will find sample lists in all the languages shared by users of the service. You can share yours if you want in the same way.

Wordeys can be used free of charge with some limitations. A paid version of about 7 EUR allows you to raise them and in particular that of allowing you to share via a simple link one or more lists with your students. Nice tool.
