With the COVID outbreak, over the past two years, teachers and their students have gone through repeated lockdowns and ‘forced’ distance learning. Digital tools, applications and materials, such as iPad tablets in class, This was an opportunity to facilitate blended learning for millions of children and adults around the world who no longer have full-time access to their schools.
Guillaume Pereira, Senior Education Sales Manager Jamf France is engaged here in a small exercise of perspective to present several technological movements that will mark, according to him, this new school year.

Security at home
Schools are increasingly using home learning tools to train students online. The internet and the cyber revolution have led to the digitalisation of almost all aspects of human life, including in the education sector.
Digital for education allows students to access the courses and resources provided by the teacher when they need them, which helps them to see or review concepts discussed in the classroom or prepare an activity in the context of so-called ‘reverse’ pedagogy.
However, online courses are more vulnerable to cyberattacks, especially in terms of data security, privacy and downloads. These risks can have an impact and, if left unchecked, pose a risk to schools, students and their families.
Thus, Jamf developed Jamf Safe Internet to improve online safety for students, wherever they are. Jamf Safe Internet is a comprehensive content filtering solution optimised for education integrated with Jamf’s management and security tools, to provide students with a secure online experience and administrators with simpler management. Jamf Safe Internet is designed to help schools protect students from harmful content on the internet, allowing administrators to enforce acceptable usage policies without sacrificing the unparalleled learning experience offered by Apple devices. As students are also internet users, this leads to a growing need for digital security to prevent students from accessing dangerous content and neutralise cyberattacks. Jamf Safe Internet integrates the filtering technology and cyber threat defense capabilities currently available to business customers through Jamf Security Solutions.

Need for accessibility and personalisation
Among the current trends in technologies in education, the need for accessibility and personalisation of digital content has emerged in recent years. French companies like Mobidys focused on certain categories of pupils, namely pupils with dyslexic disorders and helping children to train themselves to read aloud and to assess their reading fluency, always with a desire to give everyone the power to read.
The FROG format designed to relieve the cognitive burden of DYS includes aids in tracking and attention, deciphering and understanding. The intuitive interface allows the reader to read independently, customising their reading comfort.
The company DYNSEO also offers educational and brain training applications for cognitive functions: attention, memory, … language with personalised follow-up. The programs are complementary to cognitive rehabilitation sessions in a speech therapist or occupational therapist for different people with ADHD, autism, stroke, Alzheimer's, DYS disorder, addictions, trisomy or Parkinson's. Some companies are also inspired by neuroscience to offer certain applications that promote the best learning for children, such as those proposed by LearnEnjoy, a social solidarity company (ESUS) involved in the REV’TASCOL project. Led by the Grand Est Regional Health Agency the Nancy-Metz Academy, this initiative aims to facilitate the schooling of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in ordinary settings, by promoting school inclusion and improving support for these students with special educational needs. The scheme is part of the individualised school project carried out in conjunction with teachers.

LearnEnjoy also offers a detailed assessment of the achievements and difficulties encountered by the student through different applications such as MathPower, which assesses the mathematical knowledge of children aged 7 to 9 through playful and personalised activities, accompanied by a detailed assessment sent to parents.
Apple natively integrates innovative accessibility features that combine the power of hardware, software and machine learning. New software features available offer people with disabilities tools to move, communicate … by acting on all human senses.
Educational Robotics
At the forefront of pedagogical innovation, the Department of Val d’Oise, a pioneer in the use of digital technology, has been developing educational robots for four years. The use of algorithms, programming learning and robotics allow students to take an interest in new scientific professions. In four years, the VOBOT Challenge has become an integral part of the school calendar and has become very popular with middle school students and teachers. “Educational robotics are the real driver of academic success and success”, says Mary Christine Cavecchi, President of the Val d’Oise Department.
Throughout the year, students participating in the VOBOT competition obtain robot kits from teachers before starting their projects. They work on computer programming and coding throughout the school year before participating in the VOBot Challenge undergraduate competition, which consists of several robot challenges (carpet obstacle courses) where middle school students must use the best strategy in a limited time. About forty Colleges (out of 111) of the department have already participated in this competition.
