Rallye-Lecture is a great service that allows you to create and set up in a few clicks reading contests that your students will love.

"Tested and approved" as they say by more than 200,000 small readers around the world, this service created by teachers is a great tool that you will be able to use with your students in primary and middle school. Almost a year ago to the day I was saying here all the good I thought of This service that makes reading a game. I have not changed my mind.
In the meantime Rally-reading has continued to evolve and offers new, very practical features designed to make it easier for you. The opportunity to test again a service that allows in two clicks three movements to set up a reading contest for your students.
Rallye-Lecture is very easy to handle. Fully in French, the creator of the service Lorin Walter offers you if necessary a series of three particularly clear short videos in the form of a tutorial.

It all happens in four steps. First you have to choose the books you want to work on in a database of thousands of books. You can search for books by title, author, collection, theme, etc. Very effective. For each of them, the site automatically offers game questionnaires. More than 12,000 ready-to-serve questionnaires are available.
Second stage, You have to create your class(es) and your students. A password for the class will allow students to log in to the group. Their first name and a student password will then give them access to their account and reading dashboard. A dashboard that shows a beautiful shelf with the covers of all the books composing the rally reading. With one click, they will be able to access the proposed questionnaires and see their score. Each book read and validated by good answers to the questionnaires will give them points.
The next step is to offer the Reading Rally to the students. They can connect to a computer or tablet at school or at home. It is up to them to read the books you have proposed so that they can then answer the questionnaires on the platform.

Last step and it is reserved for you: Consult progress and results of the whole class and also of each student. In the latest version, for example, you will have access to all the mistakes made by a student. This is one of the great strengths of the system, everything is done to make your life easier. (Automatic corrections, filing, etc.)
Among the options at your disposal, the possibility to display a ranking for the whole class or to award badges to reward the efforts of small readers.
In the latest version of Rallye-Lecture several additional options have been added with the possibility, among other things, to take into account the difficulty of the books in awarding points (a more difficult book is equivalent to more points), to set the minimum score to be achieved by your students in order to be able to validate a questionnaire and to give students the opportunity to consult the errors they have been able to make.
[Tweet ""Rallye-Lecture may well trigger violent reading cravings among your students. "" ]As the quote from Daniel Pennac on the homepage of the website nicely puts it: ‘The verb read does not support the imperative’
I highly recommend.
You can test Rallye-Lecture for free. To use it in class, you will have to go through a subscription that will depend on the number of students. The prices are really very reasonable. For 25 students, for example, you will have to pay 17 Euros … for a whole year.
