Teachers, researchers, students we sometimes face the arduous task of browsing long PDF documents to find or extract information. The arrival of artificial intelligence has changed the game and it is now very easy toobtain, for example, a summary of a long document.

But AI can go much further. Here are five AI tools, mainly based on ChatGPT, that allow you to explore a PDF file in depth. Five of them the best AI tools for finding information, asking questions, enriching content and conversing with a PDF file.

AskYourPDF is an innovative tool designed to facilitate the exploration of PDF documents. It is a plug-in based on ChatGPT technology.  As the app’s website nicely puts it, ‘It’s no longer just reading, it’s a conversation’. For this purpose, it offers users the possibility to in-depth query your PDF documents. One of the main advantages of AskYourPDF is its ability to provide Structured summaries and relevant, thus allowing a quick understanding of the content. It can also extract specific data from a table or perform simple calculations. In addition, it is distinguished by its ability to search for information outside the document when it is not present in the PDF.

ChatWithPDF is like the previous one a plugin based on ChatGPT technology that transforms the way we interact with PDFs.

It allows you to converse with your PDF. You can ask direct questions about the content of a document and get precise answers in no time. Whether you want a quick summary, specific information or perform calculations based on the data in the document, ChatWithPDF is an effective solution. Simply select the file, if the information is not present, the tool will search for answers outside the PDF to populate its memory.

Humata

Humata, which I already have present here, is a tool for conversing with PDF documents that combines ease of use with the power of artificial intelligence. Unlike the two previous ones, it is not a plug-in but a standalone site in its own right.

The tool is able to provide synthetic summaries, which is ideal for those who want to get a quick overview of a document without delving into the details. In addition, Humata excels at finding information, both inside and outside the document.

If information is not present in the PDF, the tool tries to answer the question by searching elsewhere, but by clicking on the references used.

PDF.ai

Another standalone website to query your PDFs. PDF.ai is distinguished by its ability to provide rather well-made summaries. You can ask as many even the sharpest questions to the tool as long as the answer is in the submitted document. However, unlike the others, if it is not found in the PDF, PDF.ai will not look elsewhere. This ensures that the answers provided are based solely on the content of the document being queried. Note that the tool offers an extension for the Chrome browser which Simplifies online PDF consultation.

ChatPDF

Rather oriented education, ChatPDF is an AI (Artificial Intelligence)-based tool that also allows PDF documents to be manipulated in a conversational format. Practically, students or teachers will be able to design assessments that include different types of questions: multiple-choice questions, open-ended questions, true/false questions, questions to be filled in, etc. to equip themselves with review exercises.
