6 Free Tools to Organize Online Quizzes and Tests

Last updated on 12 May 2026

We continue this series of articles to compile the resources that may be useful to you during the school closure period that begins. After the Free textbooks and online video services, focus on sites and services that allow you to create quizzes and tests online. Here are six. Six free tools to create quizzes and tests online.

This article, like the precedents of this special series devoted to pedagogical continuity during the closure of schools, will be updated according to the novelties that will come to me. If you know of other tools with the same characteristics, send me an email to fidel.navamuel @toolstice.com. This will allow me to enrich this resource and share it with as many people as possible. Thank you.

The Quiziniere

online quiz

Developed by the Canopé network, I recommend this tool to Create online quizzes and tests. The quizinière allows you to ask questions using text, but also images, sound, video or mathematical expressions. The platform allows you to have an overall view of the results but also the detailed answers of each student. Simple, free and convenient.

An expert tool, Experquiz goes far beyond the simple Quiz generator function. You will be able to combine your questions with explanations and course materials to make it a real learning tool. It is not far from a tool to offer e-learning. Quite simple to handle, Experquiz will meet the most demanding evaluation systems and will be able to adapt to all terrains and needs. Pub

A service that is not from yesterday but continues to be a service. Free as all services on this list.  It allows you to offer many exercises, activities and tests online in mathematics but also in science, geography and languages. The platform also offers the opportunity to track progress and results. In French, free and without advertising.

Quizzy

online quiz

Quizzy allows to generate tests online but also on paper. You will be able to convert them to PDF for sending. Quizzy is in English but it remains very easy to use.  It is also distinguished by a very nice web2 graphical interface and online questionnaires that are optimized to be printed cleanly on paper. Simplicity is paid for by a few shortcomings, such as the impossibility of adding images or tracking results individually.

QRuiz

Qruiz

QRuiz offers the possibility to conduct surveys or quizzes with great ease. Nothing to install, no need to register. For multiple-choice quizzes, you have to enter the different questions and then indicate the correct answer among three possible choices. When you have finished entering all the questions, your quiz is ready to be shared. Simple and effective.

Learning Apps

learning apps

Learning Apps has a special place in this list. This online service allows you to create illustrated quizzes but it does much better than that. You can create all kinds of interactive questionnaires in the form of small on-screen games. Nice and easy to use. Learning Apps also provides a library with all the tests created by its users. Use is free of charge.

    Hello,
A small remark on Quizzy: you can follow the individual results of the students if you wish and the addition of images has been possible since the last update.
On the other hand, the site does not seem very stable to me: the quiz I created for my students, which was still working very well three weeks ago, is no longer displayed and when I edit it, I notice that half of my questions have disappeared … I had already spotted instabilities in the management of individual results. So I'm a little mixed on this tool.
    Have a good day!
